The statue depicts Jesus seated on the donkey holding a palm branch, symbol of the entry into Jerusalem. The scene is characterized by meticulous craftsmanship and fabric clothing that confer realism and naturalness to the figure.
The figure can be removed from the donkey. The palm branch is removable from the hand and, thanks to the internal wire core and soft clothing, it is possible to modify the position of the statue with care for the more delicate parts; the figure is indeed articulated at the elbows, shoulders, knees, and hips, while the torso can rotate partially.
These features allow the same figure to be used over time to create different settings and representations.
